Hinterland
an illustrated evocation of Devon in poetry, lyrics and prose - with performance CD featuring my spoken word and songs by Ben Campbell.

Hinterland features poems, prose and lyrics inspired by the wonderful Devon countryside and its culture. On this new and exciting project, I have collaborated with several local artistes... Ben Campbell has set six of my pieces to music and the Lakeman family have added their musical contributions; Peter Thomas, the gifted Plymothian artist, has created five lovely drawings; above all Richard Douglas-Green has produced and engineered the final CD. What it is to have such gifted friends!

"I remember the days of those charabanc outings When we sang all the way down to the sea..."
"Forget the red-coat horseman seeking out the fox, For there is one who hunts for greater prey..."
"...flicking back through yellowing pages to see dates and men long forgotten in the march of automated progress..."
